frequently asked questions

Have questions concerning Christian doctrine and the bible? Our Q&A format can shed some light for you. God reveals a lot about himself through his Word and his works. This is very important to us at A.L.M.S Christian Church. Take a look...

What do We Believe?
A: We believe that Jesus Christ was sent to Earth from our Heavenly Father as the Word in flesh; We also believe that Jesus died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins and on the third day he arose from the grave with all power in His hands; We also believe that Jesus now sits on the right side of the Throne of God awaiting his return for the Saved in Christ (John 3:16,Matthew 1:18-23).

Who is God?
A: God is the Supreme Creator, the author of all existence; God is the perfect being existing as the Trinity (God, Holy Spirit, and Jesus Christ); God has unconditional love for all of mankind despite our sins. (Ephesians 4:6,John 14:16-17).

Why Should I read the Bible?
A: The Bible serves multiple purposes. The Bible gives us insight into the mind of our Heavenly Father through its scriptures and parables. Every issue that we face is covered in the bible. The Bible also opens our Spirit so that we can hear from the Holy Spirit in clarity and in truth. The Bible also allows for study for personal clarification and application (2 Timothy 2:15).

Why Should I pray?
A: We pray in order to speak directly to God in Spirit and establish personal connection with our Heavenly Father. Our prayers are often requests or supplications unto God and we Pray in Jesus' name as he is our "representative" unto the Father (1 Kings 8:45,Matthew 21:22).

Why Should I Come to Church?
A: Attending church services is important because it gives you an opportunity to fellowship with like-minded individuals who understand the goodness of God. Church also provides an opportunity to hear an interpretation of the Word through an anointed vessel(minister). Getting this exposure to scriptural material, provides you more insight to what the Word is saying (Hebrews 10:24-25,Matthew 28:18-20).

What is Faith?
Faith can simply be stated as believing and trusting God without doubting. God gives us promises and loves us but we have never seen Him. The faith that we have in His Word is our bridge to Christ (Hebrews 11:1,James 2:26, Hebrews 11:6).

How Can I be Saved ?
A:You can confirm acceptance into the Kingdom of Heaven by confessing with your mouth and believing in your heart, that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and that He rose again on the third day. By confessing these things, you are placing God as the ruler of your life and giving him control over your destiny, in turn he promises never to leave or forsake you and he promises a love unconditional (John 3:16, 14:6).
